Game notes: The Raiders graduated their top four scorers of last year’s 11-24-2 team and don’t return anyone who scored more than eight goals. Panowyk is the team’s top returning scorer (4 & 14). Colgate’s power-play and penalty-killing stats are identical. Colgate is 5-for-42 on the power play and opponents are 5-for-42 against them. Colgate is 0-1-2 in its new $40 million Steven J. Riggs Rink. UMaine will regain the services of energetic left wing and captain Brown, who missed the Saturday night loss at Miami with an undisclosed injury. UMaine will try to get its power play untracked. It is operating at 8.6 percent and is in an 0-for-13 slump. These teams split a pair in Orono last season, UMaine winning the opener 3-1 before Colgate took the nightcap 5-1. The Black Bears must also stay out of the penalty after giving Miami 16 power-play chances last weekend, eight each night. Miami cashed in on three of them. Colgate is coming off 4-3 and 5-2 losses at Merrimack.
