LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine — A man from Livermore Falls was hospitalized after he was hit by a Livermore Falls police cruiser late Friday night.
Joseph Slaver, 24, was listed in critical condition Saturday at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, which took place in the 500 block of Park Street in Livermore Falls shortly around 11:55 p.m. Friday.
According to the sheriff’s office, Livermore Falls Officer Troy Reed was traveling south on Park Street when Slaver entered the roadway and was struck by the cruiser.
An outside police agency was called in to investigate because the incident involved a Livermore Falls officer, which is common practice, according to the sheriff’s office.
The crash remains under investigation.
