BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 53-year-old Brunswick man was listed in satisfactory condition at Maine Medical Center on Monday afternoon, four days after he was struck by a car while trying to ride his bicycle across four lanes of traffic on Route 1.

Just before 3 p.m. on Thursday, Leslie Morton attempted to ride his bicycle across Route 1, also known as Pleasant Street, near the Miss Brunswick Diner. He was struck by a 2008 Honda Accord driven by 38-year-old Heather Bubier of Brunswick, said Brunswick Police Cmdr. Tom Garrepy.

Bubier was headed east in the traveling lane when Morton’s bicycle emerged from between vehicles and was struck, Garrepy said.

He was taken to Maine Medical Center with a potential head injury and broken bones.

Bubier was not injured. Garrepy said no charges are pending.
