LEWISTON, Maine — A 63-year-old man who suffered serious burns in a fire a week ago died Thursday, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Friday.

Michael Garrett of Lewiston was burned on Oct. 27 after pouring gasoline on a campfire, causing an explosion, McCausland said in a news release.

Garrett had been in the hospital since the incident.
