WALDOBORO, Maine — The Maine State Police tactical team arrested a man shortly after 7 a.m. Friday following a standoff that began late Thursday night.
Maine Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said more details would be released today on the incident but that he had few details other than a man had been arrested.
A fire truck blocked off the intersection of Main and Friendship streets during the night.
The Lincoln County News is reporting that the man arrested is Brian J. Bennett, 36.
Bennett has been sought by police since Sept. 20, when officers went to his home on Flanders Corner Road to arrest him on an unspecified warrant and he escaped through a hole in the floor of the home and then fled on foot.
