WARREN, Maine — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said a man was stabbed by another person during a domestic dispute Sunday night in Warren.

Deputies said a third party called 911 around 10:30 p.m. to report the incident. The caller stated the man, who had been stabbed in the hand, had left the residence and his whereabouts were unknown at the time.

Upon arrival, deputies say they found blood spattered all over the deck and exterior of the door of the residence. They had to force their way in because no one was responding to their knocks and they were concerned for the safety of the people inside.

Once inside they found a woman in her bedroom. Deputies were notified a short time later that the man had gone to the hospital for treatment of the stab wound to his hand.

Authorities arrested and charged the man, 44-year-old Lauren Tozier, with domestic violence assault and violation of conditions of release.

Tozier is being held at the Knox County Jail.
