CASCO, Maine — Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for the driver in a deadly hit-and-run in Casco.
Deputies said they received a call just after 6 p.m. Sunday about a woman who was hit by a car.
Deputies said the 56-year-old female pedestrian was hit and killed on Route 302 near the Naples line.
Deputies do not have a description of the vehicle, but said based on evidence left at the scene, it may have been a Volkswagen.
Officials have not released the victim’s name.
Route 302 was closed for a couple hours but is back open.
