BOWDOINHAM, Maine — A Bowdoinham man was listed in fair condition Monday afternoon at Maine Medical Center in Portland after the snowmobile he was allegedly riding down the center of Post Road on Saturday was struck by an oncoming car.
Frederick Snowdeal, 55, was initially taken by Topsham rescue workers to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to The Times Record. He was later transferred to Maine Medical Center, according to a spokeswoman at CMMC.
Snowdeal was riding an Arctic Cat snowmobile in the middle of Post Road near Bowdoinham’s recycling center when a Chevrolet Impala driven by 19-year-old Hannah Mecham, also of Bowdoinham, rounded a corner and struck the snowmobile, Deputy Mark McDonald told The Times Record.
Snowdeal, who was wearing a helmet, reportedly struck his head on the car windshield. Mecham was uninjured.
