PORTLAND, Maine — The storm that hit Maine Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday dumped nearly 2 feet of snow across parts of Maine, hitting parts of Western Maine hardest.
The storm had much of the state in whiteout conditions late Tuesday as it continued its way north. As of Wednesday morning, most weather stations around the state reported between 10 and 14 inches of snow.

Lisbon Falls, in southeastern Androscoggin County, topped the morning tally with 22 inches of snow as of 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm Tuesday afternoon left some drivers stranded on I-295 between Topsham and Freeport. Before hitting Maine, the storm dropped more than 40 inches in parts of the northeast.
