The Androscoggin Sheriff’s Office have identified the woman killed in a head-on collision on Route 136 in Durham Monday morning.

Destiny Dallavilla, 25, of Turner died at the scene of the crash on Route 136, also known as Royalsborough Road, Lt. Glenn J. Holt of the sheriff’s office said Tuesday in a news release.

Deputies were called to the scene, near 281 Royalsborough Road, at 11:41 a.m. Monday.

Dallavilla, who was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima sedan, was traveling north on Royalsborough Road in a line of other vehicles when it pulled into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2017 GMC pickup driven by Henry Hudson Jr., 70, of Harrison.

Both vehicles came to rest in the southbound ditch.

Dallavilla was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, 30-year-old Jonathan Dallavilla, also of Turner, was extricated from the vehicle by Durham Fire and Rescue personnel and taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Holt said Tuesday that he remains in critical condition.

Holt said the couple was recently married.

Hudson was treated at the scene for cuts and bruises.

Royalsborough Road was closed and traffic was detoured for about three hours, until about 3:20 p.m., while the crash was investigated by the sheriff’s office.

It is being reconstructed by Maine State Police. Both vehicles have been impounded as part of the investigation.
