Sanford police on Wednesday afternoon identified the woman killed in a single-vehicle crash on Sam Allen Road.
Karen Cavanaugh, 58, of Wells died about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when her 2014 Nissan Juke left the road and struck a tree, according to Detective Eric Small of the Sanford Police Department.
Cavanaugh was the only person in the car, and she died at the scene.
Small said that the crash remains under investigation.
