A body was found inside a burning building in Lebanon on Wednesday that reportedly was intentionally set on fire, according to WGME.
Authorities have not determined whether the fire caused the death of the 58-year-old man who was found deceased on the second floor or if he died before the blaze broke out, the report said.
The fire marshal’s office said the fire was “intentionally set,” the report said.
It was reported around noon at 72 Shapleigh Road, a rental property where the man had been living alone, the report said.
The state fire marshal’s office and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating the fire and are using dog teams to process the scene. The man’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office, according to the report.
