HERMON, Maine — Danielle Beale of Hampden worked her way up from the No. 13 starting position and took her first checkered flag of the season in the Cap’s Tavern Modified Enduro feature race Wednesday night at Speedway 95.

Beale took the lead from Brent McCullough of Kenduskeag on a lap 16 restart, after McCullough had led the first 15 laps. McCullough fought back, racing Beale side by side to the finish but Beale was able to hold him off, winning by just a car-length.

McCullough finished second, while Keith Drost of Stetson, who had won the feature for the past two weeks, placed third. Joe Doughty of Hampden finished fourth followed by Hermon’s Andrew Crosby.
