Game notes: Two rebuilding teams under first-year coaches Richard Barron of UMaine and Shaheen Holloway of St. Peter’s meet in a game both desperately would love to win in order to begin turning their fortunes around with a month left until the start of conference play. UMaine played its first home game Wednesday, a 73-59 loss to Princeton. St. Peter’s is home for the first time in three weeks after four straight road contests, including a 99-49 loss at No. 8 Auburn on Tuesday. The Peacocks of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference have lost five straight since a season-opening home victory over Lafayette. UMaine has lost 14 in a row dating back to last season. Fleming ranks 34th among all NCAA Division I players, averaging 36.3 minutes per contest. UMaine and St. Peter’s have two common opponents, North Carolina State and North Texas. UMaine fell 82-63 at N.C. State and 74-63 at North Texas. St. Peter’s lost 85-57 at N.C. State and 75-66 at North Texas.
