ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Elks is holding a children’s Christmas party from 12-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at 317 High Street. Free and open to the public. For ages 13 and under. Includes lunch with Santa, games, face painting, crafts, cookie decorating and gifts.

Bagaduce Chorale holiday concert at Blue Hill church

BLUE HILL — The Bagaduce Chorale will hold its holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 and 3 p.m. Dec. 15 at the First Congregational Church, 22 Tenney Hill. The Bagaduce Chorale with soloists Katelyn Parker Bray and Isaac Bray, the GEM Orchestra and the ECMI Youth Chorus will perform John Rutter’s “Mass of the Children” and Mozart’s “Mass in C, KV 167 ‘Trinitatis’.” Tickets are $20 and are available at Blue Hill Public Library; Flexit Café & Bakery, Main St, Ellsworth; ​Sherman’s Bookstore, Bar Harbor; and​Southwest Harbor Public Library.

Reception for ‘Cats in the Classics’ art exhibit

ELLSWORTH — Local artist Kipp Sienna Hopkins will be displaying her work in the Ellsworth Public Library Riverview Room during the month of December. The reception for ‘Cats in the Classics’ is from 4:30-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 at 20 State Street. “Cats in the Classics” features a variety of literary characters re-imagined as cats. Light refreshments will be served.

‘Exploring Shakespeare’ at Dorcas Library

GOULDSBORO — The Dorcas Library will hold “Exploring Shakespeare” from 2:30-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at 28 Main Street. Will watch lectures and videos, read and discuss plays and poems, and take about Shakespeare’s history and world.

‘Out of the Hat’ reading with Meetinghouse Theatre Lab: ‘Holiday Stories, Songs, Poems, and Plays’

WINTER HARBOR — Schoodic Arts for All’s Meetinghouse Theatre Lab will hold its next “Out of the Hat” reading from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Hammond Hall, 427 Main Street. The reading will feature stories, songs, poems and plays relating to Jewish and Christian holiday traditions. Includes “T’was the Night Before Christmas,” “The Grinch,” Hebrew songs and more. Cookies and hot cocoa will be served.
