A Wiscasset man who gave lessons at a Brunswick music store has been charged with unlawful sexual contact after he allegedly touched a child during a music lesson.

Joshua King, 31, of Wiscasset was arrested Jan. 3 and charged with the Class B felony. He has since been released from Cumberland County Jail.

King allegedly touched the child inappropriately multiple times during lessons at The Music Center in the Tontine Mall, Brunswick police Lt. Thomas Garrepy said.

The case remains under investigation and police have requested the names of other children King taught.

Jerry Perron, owner of the Music Center, said Thursday that King, who was a subcontracted teacher at the center, is no longer affiliated with his business.
