The Sable Oaks Golf Club in South Portland will not reopen, according to an email from General Manager Mark Anderson.
In the email, Anderson apologized for the late notice and any inconvenience it may cause.
I always enjoyed this course. Pretty AND pretty challenging @SableOaksGolf #SableOaksGolfClub https://t.co/c8WkN6b9BM

Anderson did not say why Sable Oaks is not reopening.
The club has a history that dates back 30 years, according to Anderson. Last October, the course was recognized as one of four in Maine to be named a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, with enhanced bird habitats and trails with bird boxes.
