No. 4 Portland narrowly slipped past No. 5 Edward Little 48-43 for the win in a AA North girls quarterfinals matchup Thursday to advance to the semifinals. It was a nail biter up until the final seconds.
Portland’s record improves to 10-9 for the season. Edward Little ends its season at 10-9.

Portland will next face No. 1 Oxford Hills on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Oxford Hills dominated No. 8 Lewiston in their quarterfinal matchup.
Portland fell to Edward Little in the semifinals in 2018, 58-38. The Edward Little girls went all the way last year to take home the Class AA championship.
