The No. 8 Presque Isle boys narrowly edged out No. 9 Foxcroft Academy 52-49 in a Class B North preliminary basketball game Thursday night to advance to the quarterfinal round.
Presque Isle’s win improves the team record to 9-10. Foxcroft Academy ends its season with a 7-12 record.
Presque Isle moves on to the quarterfinals, where they will next face Hermon on Saturday, Feb. 16.
Presque Isle fell to Mount Desert Isle in the semifinals in 2018, 72-60. Foxcroft Academy did not earn a spot in last year’s tourney.
