The No. 7 Cape Elizabeth girls earned the first big upset on Tuesday, defeating No. 2 Oak Hill of Wales 34-26 in a B South quarterfinal battle at the Portland Expo.

The Oak Hill Raiders led early in the game, taking a 5-4 advantage at the end of the first. But Cape battled back to keep a lead at the end of every quarter the rest of the way.

Cape’s record improves to 9-10 on the season. Oak Hill’s year ends with a 16-3 record.

Cape will move to face Freeport in the semifinals on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Portland Cross Insurance Arena. No. 3 Freeport ousted Mountain Valley 49-37 in a prior quarterfinal match Monday to earn their spot.
