A Unity man was arrested Wednesday after police allegedly found dozens of sexually explicit images of children younger than 12 on his tablet computer during a search of his apartment.

Scott Tedesco, 57, was charged with possession of child pornography after the search by members of the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Department of Homeland Security, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

He was arrested at his work in Pittsfield without incident and taken to the Waldo County Jail in Belfast to be booked.

Analysts will perform an extensive search of the tablet, McCausland said. Tedesco is being held in lieu of bail set at $500 cash.

If he posts bail, he will not be allowed to have contact with any child younger than 16. He also will be prohibited from having access to the internet.
