Game notes: The Wildcats have lost five in a row, while the Black Bears have won 11 straight. UNH leading scorer and former Bangor Daily News All-Maine Schoolgirl first-team selection Ashley Storey (17.1 ppg) from Cumberland has missed the last 14 games with a foot injury. Providence College transfer Maggie Ahearn (8.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg) has been out with a knee injury. The youthful Wildcats will be heavy underdogs so they will have nothing to lose. They will have to shoot well to stay with the Black Bears. They shot just 34.4 percent from the floor in their two losses to UMaine during the regular season. Their 53 ppg average is 342nd out of 349 Division I programs. The Wildcats also give up a league-worst 64.7 ppg. UMaine is the league’s top scoring team at 67.2 ppg. Brekke is the league Rookie of the Year, and Saar was the Rookie of the Year last season. UMaine is 10-1 at the Cross Center with the only loss coming to Duke, 66-63.
