A Massachusetts man died Friday afternoon in a collision involving two skiers at the Cannon Mountain Ski Area.
The collision was reported around 3 p.m. Friday on the Middle Ravine Trail at the Franconia, New Hampshire, ski area. Police said Jeremy Keiran, 39, of Somerville, Massachusetts was found unresponsive by first responders.
Despite efforts to resuscitate Keiran, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robert Slocum, 48, of Newburyport, Massachusetts, also suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries in the accident and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The preliminary investigation found Keiran was skiing down the Profile Trail when he lost control and was thrown from his skis, sliding through a roped-off area at the end of the trail and off an embankment.
Keiran then struck Slocum, who was skiing on the Middle Ravine Trail.
