A hiker was rescued from Mount Chase on Monday afternoon by Maine Game Wardens and the Patten Ambulance service.
Jinni-Mae Campbell, 27, had fallen while hiking Mount Chase. Rescuers believed that she had a broken leg.
Due to the steep terrain, narrow trail and her injury, Campbell was rescued by a short haul helicopter at around 3:50 p.m., officials said.
The Maine Forest Service used the helicopter to lower a forest ranger and paramedic to Campbell, and then pull her to safety from the south side of the mountain. She was taken to Houlton Regional Hospital.
