Downeast Business and Professional Women are now accepting applications for a scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is pursuing a post-secondary education. 

The local organization is also accepting applications for a scholarship to an area college student who is continuing her post-secondary education by taking at least 3 classes per semester. 

Jeri White, scholarship chair of the local organization, states that each scholarship, available to women in the area, is in the amount of $500. 

Information and applications may be picked up at area high schools or from White at Bangor Savings Bank, 59 Foster Street, Ellsworth; or she may be reached at 207-812-8160. Deadline for receipt of completed application packages is April 30. Business and Professional Women is a nationwide organization of people interested in achieving equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.
