The University of Maine men’s basketball team will compete in a double-header showcase at the O2 Arena in London next season, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Monday.

UMaine will face Marist College in the Basketball Hall of Fame London Showcase on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, followed by a game between the University of Kentucky and the University of Michigan.

The UMaine-Marist game will be the first college basketball game played at O2 Arena.

“This trip will be educational while providing lifelong memories for our players and staff,” the UMaine men’s basketball team said. “For many of our European players, it will also offer an opportunity to play in front of family and friends.”

The showcase was originally scheduled to take place in December 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

UMaine will play Marist at 10:30 a.m. ET (3:30 p.m. local time).

Tickets for the game will go on sale March 4 at 4 a.m. ET at AXS.com.
