As I listen to the preliminary chatter about the 2024 presidential race it amazes me the direction it is going. In my opinion, President Joe Biden’s abilities as a leader are making former President Donald Trump look good and it is very likely that this duo will be our choice next November.

Biden had a short press conference recently where he said, “America is not a deadbeat nation.” meaning we have to raise the debt ceiling. Really? America is worse than a deadbeat nation as it mortgages the future of its children and grandchildren to maintain its big spending and low taxes.

Trump allies are currently running a campaign ad boosting how he cut taxes and one of his primary opponents, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wanted to raise taxes. It is true Trump pushed through a big tax cut with help from a Republican Congress, but what is also true is they failed to cut spending with their majority and actually increased it.

Are we Americans that dumb or do we willingly accept this, as the alternative is much more painful: That is paying for our spending and so called “investments in America” with much higher taxes for all.
