SOUTH PORTLAND — The city of South Portland says that Willard Beach is closed to the public due to a burst pipe.

The pipe burst around 4:30 p.m. near Southern Maine Community College.

The pipe was a force main pipe, which is a pressurized sewage pipe. Further information was not available on Thursday evening.
