BANGOR — Good Samaritan Agency, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs related to pregnancy and parenting, announces the retirement of Debbie Giguere, the long-serving executive director, effective Dec. 31. Giguere ‘s departure marks the end of an era, and her leadership and commitment have left an indelible impact on the agency.
Giguere shared her gratitude and reflections on her time with Good Samaritan in a parting message included in the annual report. She expressed deep appreciation for the privilege of serving the community, working with wonderful people, and being part of an amazing agency that contributes significantly to the well-being of the community.
“I am most grateful for the time I have spent here, and I will forever smile when I think of all the wonderful people I have had the privilege to serve, work with, and get to know,” said Giguere. “The Good Samaritan Agency is an amazing agency, and it has been an honor to be part of place that does so much for our community. I know that the agency is in good hands and will continue to grow and thrive to meet the needs of our community.”
Good Samaritan Agency is pleased to announce the appointment of Liz Mullis as the interim executive director. Mullis brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as social worker at Good Samaritan for the past 28 years. She has worked with adoptive families, supported adolescent moms through the Teen Parent Education program, and witnessed the growth of children in the childcare center.
In her new capacity, Mullis looks forward to collaborating with the dedicated staff to maintain and enhance the provision of high-quality services to the community. Good Samaritan Agency, true to its mission, strives to help individuals with special needs regarding pregnancy and parenting, providing services and support to improve the quality of their lives.
The Board of Directors expresses gratitude to Giguere for her exemplary leadership and welcomes Mullis to her new role. The agency looks forward to continuing its mission under Mullis’ guidance, ensuring the continued growth and success of Good Samaritan Agency.
Good Samaritan Agency was founded in Bangor 121 years ago and provides adoption services, single parent services, and childcare with a curriculum focused on school readiness. The agency is located at 100 Ridgewood Drive in Bangor.
