The 12th seeded Monmouth Academy girls basketball team defeated No. 5 Sacopee Valley 50-28 in a Class C South preliminary round game Tuesday. Monmouth advanced to the quarterfinals against No. 4 Madison at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Augusta Civic Center.
