Two people were arrested after a 64-year-old woman reported that she had been threatened while in her vehicle on Thursday morning.
The woman had been parked near 161 Marginal Way when two males entered her vehicle and started to threaten her, according to Portland police spokesperson Brad Nadeau. The male that entered the front passenger seat reportedly had a knife, and took belongings from the woman before she exited the vehicle.
The attackers attempted to start the vehicle, but were unsuccessful, and fled the scene on foot, officials said.
They were arrested after a three-hour search of the area, and have been charged with robbery.
Both suspects are under 18, and their names have not been disclosed to the public. Both suspects were transported to the Longcreek Youth Development Center, officials said.
Officials believe the two males have been involved in other attempted carjackings in the Portland area. Anyone with information can contact the Portland Police Department at 207-874-8575.
