The University of Maine men’s ice hockey team has made it to Hockey East semifinals for the first time in more than a decade.

Friday will be the Black Bears’ first appearance in the conference semifinals since the 2011-12 season, and fans will be clamoring to see the team face off against longtime rivals Boston University at the TD Garden in Boston.

UMaine had appeared in two NCAA championships, 11 Frozen Fours and 18 NCAA Tournament appearances during a 26-year period from 1986-87 to 2011-12.

The puck drops for the semifinal game at the Garden at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

You can also watch it on NESN or NESN+, and catch it on the radio at 92.9 FM, 100.5 FM, or 1160 AM.

Watch parties will also be happening across the state. As of Friday morning, Sea Dog Brewing Company in Bangor, Buffalo Wild Wings and Orono Brewing Company will host official watch parties.

The official NCAA Division 1 Men’s Hockey bracket will be updated on March 24, and can be found here.
