Foulmouthed Brewing announced Wednesday that it will close at the end of April when it sells the business to an unnamed brewer.

“These last 8+ years of brewing, cooking, and neighborhood life have been an amazing experience, but we’ve been offered an opportunity to sell the business and we feel the time is right for us to move on,” a farewell message on Facebook read.

The brewery said the new owner, described only as “a new, independent brewery with plenty of experience working within the industry here in Maine,” plans to continue operating as a restaurant and brewery and will reopen under their own name when they have the appropriate licenses.

“While in some ways we are sad to be saying goodbye, we are also excited for the next chapter for the neighborhood and for our own family,” the brewery said.

The last day under the Foulmouthed Brewing banner will be April 28, the brewery said, adding, “Cheers and thanks for all the good times.”
