With her endorsement of the SAVE Act, the bill to outlaw non-citizen voting, which, as the BDN rightly reported, is already illegal in federal elections, I believe that Sen. Susan Collins has proved again that her carefully cultivated reputation for moderation is completely bogus. I think she knows, or certainly should know given her day job, that this bill is not only performative scaremongering, but also a useful tool to suppress legal voting.

I think her claim that it will clarify the law is disingenuous gaslighting at best and sheer ignorance at worst.
