Bangor, ME — November 1, 2018 — The Bangor Mall. Linda Coan O’Kresik | BDN

The city of Bangor filed a lawsuit against the owners of the Bangor Mall this week, in response to months of complaints about the building’s deteriorating condition, including a leaking roof, large potholes and crumbling pavement and other structural problems.

It’s the latest in an ongoing series of problems related to the once-bustling retail center, which up until the mid-2010s was one of the premier shopping destinations in the state. Since the building was purchased by Namdar Realty Group LLC in 2019, multiple tenants have closed or moved out of the property, citing the poor building conditions and lack of shopping traffic.

We want to know: do you still shop at the Bangor Mall? To sound off, answer our questions below, or send an email to news@bangordailynews.com. Be sure to include your name, email and town of residence. We may contact you for a follow-up story.
