A man has lost his appeal in an ongoing legal dispute over a junkyard on his property in Greene.

The legal battle began in 2022 when the town sued George Stanley for having an illegal junkyard and flea market at his house.

A lower court ruled in the town’s favor, but Stanley appealed to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

According to the Sun Journal, Maine’s highest court ruled Stanley violated the state’s junkyard law as well as the town’s ordinance.
