In Maine, several hospitals traditionally report their first births of the year. We will post them here as they are reported.
A baby boy was born at 2:34 a.m. at 7 pounds, 14 ounces. His mother, Liliana Kimbela of Lewiston, has yet to settle on a name but is calling him Baby Boy Kimbela for now,
“What a great way to start the new year, not only for the family of the newborn, but for all of us here at CMMC,” said Tasha Duval, chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston, where the boy was born.
Michael Nathan Maiato, 7 pounds, 12 ounces, was born at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland to parents Paige and Joe Maiato of Kennebunk.
“We are overjoyed with the newest addition to our family,” Joe Maiato said. “What a way to ring in the new year!”
The Maiatos said they were excited for Michael to meet his 2-year-old brother, Theo.
Myles Hudson Livengood, 6 pounds, 10 ounces, was born at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to parents Emily Foss Andrews and Michael Livengood of Bangor.
Kolton Robert, 8 pounds, 4.9 ounces, was born at 7:27 a.m. Wednesday at Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland to parents Mariah Rouille and Robert Desrosier of South Paris.
Freya Arlene Curtis, 8 pounds, 8 ounces, was born at 8:43 a.m. at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth to parents Cecilia Arlene McCoy and Isaac Robert Curtis of Calais.
