A snowboarder that had what could have turned into a life-threatening experience was caught on camera on Mount Washington recently.

The snowboarder can be seen flying ahead of an oncoming avalanche that tumbled down the mountainside into Tuckerman Ravine on Tuesday.

According to the Mount Washington Observatory team, the avalanche conditions were likely caused by above-freezing temperatures that loosened the snowpack, making it susceptible to disturbance.

The snowboarder was not injured, according to the observatory team.

A “low” possibility of an avalanche occurring remains on Wednesday, according to a warning issued by the Mount Washing Avalanche Center.
