A Mainer died early Tuesday morning in a fiery crash in Pittsfield.
The car crashed near the intersection of Route 2 and Beans Corner Road about 12:17 a.m., according to Pittsfield Police Chief Vicente Morris.
When police arrived at the scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, Morris said early Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.
The driver, who isn’t being publicly identified at this time, was found dead inside the vehicle, Morris said.
The crash remains under investigation, but speed and weather are believed to be factors.
No additional information was immediately available.
