Two Bangor pools will be opening this week, just as a heat wave descends over the state.

Beth Pancoe Aquatic Center and Dakin Pool will open this week, according to the Bangor Parks and Recreation Department. Beth Pancoe Aquatic Center opens to swimmers on Tuesday, while Dakin Pool opens to the public on Friday.

Beth Pancoe Aquatic Center will be open from 1-4:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday for afternoon swims; 12-1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday for adult swims; and 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday for night swims.

The Dakin Pool will be open from 1-4:30 p.m. Monday to Sunday for afternoon swims; and 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday for night swims.
