A car crash knocked out power to more than 1,400 people along Broadway on Wednesday afternoon.

The outage happened around 3:40 p.m. after a car crash, a Versant Power spokesperson said. There were 1,462 people without power along Broadway, north of Grandview Avenue and out to the Pushaw Lake area.

Power was restored around 4 p.m., the spokesperson said.

It comes a week after a bird flew into a Versant substation near the airport, knocking out power to more than 3,300 people. Power in that outage was restored in about an hour.
