A 75-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Portland on Thursday evening.

The woman had been crossing Franklin Street when she was struck by a vehicle at around 7:07 p.m., according to the Portland Police Department. Onlookers say that the woman had been crossing the road along with other people against the crosswalk signal.

The woman was transported to Maine Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

No charges have been filed against the 48-year-old driver at this time, officials said.
