The railroad company whose tracks run through Bangor will enforce the Friday deadline for the city’s homeless encampment closure. The encampment is spread out along the train tracks beside the Penobscot River, encompassing both CSX Transportation and city property.
The Bangor City Council is planning to bring back Zoom comments for its meetings. But there will be new stipulations, including pre-registration.
Washington County’s sheriff has called out commissioners over its plan to solve the county budget crisis. Barry Curtis said a plan advanced by officials, including a retired state trooper, would force big changes to the way his office serves the county.
Residents of a rural Penobscot County town have moved the community one step closer to dissolving. If Maxfield goes through with the decision, it will join Maine’s Unorganized Territory.
