The Memorial Day parade scheduled for downtown Bangor on Monday has been canceled due to a forecast of heavy rain, according to the city.

The parade had been scheduled to step off at 10:15 a.m.

The National Weather Service is forecasting rain through the morning with a 90% chance of precipitation and up to three-quarters of an inch of rain possible.

The city is asking residents to take time to reflect on the sacrifices of service members and their families.
