A 14-year-old boy allegedly led Lewiston police on a chase Thursday night.

The teen faces a charge of refusing to submit to arrest, according to the Lewiston Police Department.

Officers attempted to pull the boy over about 9:43 p.m., but he allegedly didn’t stop, prompting police to give chase.

The chase came to an end when the boy hit an exposed pipe behind a building on Bartlett Street, deflating one of his tires.

Police believe the vehicle, which was covered in bullet holes, was involved in a recent shooting.

The boy has been released into the custody of his guardians.

Additional charges are expected as the investigation proceeds.
