BANGOR — Summer is almost here, and so is the Bangor Band’s Summer Concert Series. The oldest continuous community band in New England plays every Tuesday evening from June 16 through Aug.11, under the direction of Conductors Scott Burditt and Marisa Weinstein and with the support of Dr. Philip Edelman.
The season starts on Tuesday, June 16 at Stillwater Park. We continue through the summer with concerts at Stillwater Park, Cascade Park, Veazie Community School and Waterfront Park. Concert partners this summer include the 195th Army Band and Thomas School of Dance.
Audience members will recognize old favorites like “America the Beautiful” and “Stars and Stripes Forever”, mixed with new pieces such as “Bayou Breakdown”, “Liberty Fanfare”, “Moana” and “Seventy-Six Trombones.” Each week will feature a unique mix of the 40 pieces prepared by Bangor Band over the winter and spring.
