Having seen Troy Jackson’s leadership up close, I can say: He’s the real deal. After college, I worked as an aide in the Maine Senate when Troy was Senate president. I was in the room as Troy led meetings of the Democratic caucus, trying to expand health care, lower prescription drug costs, provide property tax relief, and protect the environment.

Every day, I saw Troy laser focused on delivering for working Mainers. He was always frustrated by the power of lobbyists and giant corporations, but also convinced that we could come together, transform the state, and make government work for ordinary people, not just for the wealthy and the powerful.

In Maine, the governor has enormous power to set the tone in Augusta, frame the agenda, and shape budget negotiations, affecting the lives of people in every corner of the state. I believe Troy’s the man for the job. He has the vision, integrity, and experience to be a transformative governor. And he’ll never forget where he comes from and who he’s fighting for.
