Ten days after a man was shot on Talbot Trail in Bangor, police have charged his alleged assailant.
The incident happened on the morning of June 15. A man who had been camping in the woods off Stillwater Avenue told police he was approached on the trail by a man who talked to him briefly, then drew a gun and began to shoot at him.
An investigation led police to a nearby residence where they arrested Justin Grover, 38, of Bangor, but charged him only with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Grover posted bail but was arrested again on Thursday on a charge of elevated aggravated assault for his alleged involvement in the Talbot Trail shooting, after what Bangor police called an “extensive investigation.”
Grover is currently being held at Penobscot County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
