Lil Wayne has been rescheduled in Bangor after he failed to show up to his headlining spot on Tuesday night.
The rapper and singer is now scheduled to perform at the Maine Savings Amphitheater on July 28, the venue announced on Wednesday evening. According to a poster for the show, opener 2 Chainz, who did perform on Tuesday, also will be returning.
“All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date, and additional information will be emailed directly to ticket holders,” the venue wrote on Facebook. “Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming everyone back later this month.”
Lil Wayne was supposed to take the stage Tuesday night after opening act 2 Chainz. His set was scheduled to begin at 10:45 p.m., but by 11 p.m., the crowd was told the show was over and Lil Wayne would not be taking the stage.
His whereabouts quickly became the raw material of dozens of Maine memes with AI-generated images showing him doing everything from driving a fire truck in Hermon to bowling in Lewiston.
