Sen. Susan Collins recently commented of Graham Platner that it’s “never appropriate to mock a downed American.” Does that mean that she’s speaking out more? If so, she’s in luck because the White House offers a lifetime supply of inappropriate, offensive and even dangerous behavior to call out.

I confess I had the same concerns. All of us should. But a friend who has known Platner his whole life speaks very highly of him, which I find reassuring.

I look forward to voting for someone who I believe is not bought and paid for — like Collins (who I’ve always voted for) — by special interests, of which the American Israel Public Affairs Committee leads the list.
